CIS522
Computer Security & Cryptography

Course Abstract

The course will present a practical survey of concepts, principles and practice of cryptography and computer security. The first part will cover "conventional" cryptography: symmetric (shared key) techniques - ( including DES, AES, and other ciphers). The next part will cover basic Public Key Cryptography - key exchange, digital signatures/certificates. In the third part of the course we will cover some of cryptographic protocols which use the techniques mentioned above.
